A Postcard from Croatia - Sharon's Travel Story

I’ve wanted to go on this trip for a long time, my friend was going on it and she said ‘why don’t you do it with us’ so I did!

First of all, the ship was gorgeous - it was a lovely boat and the crew were outstanding. But the food, wow it was good. Each meal on-board was three-courses and it was all amazing, we had a beautiful octopus salad which was just delightful and strangely enough my favourite meal was a squash soup – it was the best soup I’ve ever had.

Life on board

This holiday was the perfect way to see different parts of Croatia in a short space of time and each day onboard was so relaxing. The top deck had plenty of areas to sunbathe, which is what we were doing most days, but there was also a large, shaded area, a swing seat and a hot tub – which we made the most of.

The cabins were all lovely and big, we paid extra for an upper deck and during the day we’d open the doors, lay on the bed and have a little snooze. Just to have all the fresh air coming in, admiring the views and watching the boats go by was amazing.

At night our group would have drinks in the bar together and then enjoy one or two more up to the top deck while looking out over whichever beautiful location we were docked at that evening.

One of the highlights for all of us was the swim stops. Every day the crew stopped off at a little secluded area in between islands and let us get off for a swim and the water was beautiful. To start with, only a few of us jumped in, but by the end of the holiday nearly everyone was taking advantage of the break for a cooling dip in the sea. There was even a little platform at the back of the boat so we could get in and out of the water easily.

Freedom & flexibility

A remarkable thing about going on this small ship was that we were able to dock up right in the heart of a destination and it gave you more freedom to explore as you wanted. You could decide to stay on the boat for a while and admire the surroundings from the top deck, you can go off and wander around or do a bit of both, it just provided so much flexibility. The best thing about the whole holiday was not having to pack and unpack more than once. It was so convenient - I want to go on a cruise all the time now!
